When you first join Surreal*Twilight, you can only post in the Student Forums. In order to become a Graduate you'll need to go through a judging process. So, how do you go about proving yourself? Simple; you have to present us with four role play posts. Whether you role play with a fellow newcomer, a full S*T member, a Kindly Scholar or use the Writing Hall is entirely up to you, as is role playing with only one other person or multiple people. All we need are four posts of at least minimum accepted quality (as explained in the rules). This process is not subject to exemption, and we will not judge posts made on other forums.

Once you posted your application here, within a few days, the Kindly Scholars will begin to edit either "accept"s or "decline"s to your post. If you receive three approvals, you will be upgraded to a Graduate. If you receive three declines, you will not. You will be sent your scores, whether accepted or declined, so you can keep the pieces of advice for later. The original application post will be deleted.

We are not elitist. At least 90% of all applicants are approved into to graduate. If, however, you are declined, feel free to PM one of the Kindly Scholar and request one-on-one help; that is their job, after all. They'd be more than happy to lead you in the right direction. You're free to keep applying until you're accepted. There are no further restrictions or time limits on this.

REMEMBER Once you've been upgraded, if all the participants in your role play(s) are members, you can PM any Kindly Scholar, Global Moderator, or Administrator to have them moved. We just need to know whether they should go to the Fantasy, Realistic, Science Fiction, Battle or Fandom RP forums.

Students are allowed (or rather encouraged), if they have more than 4 posts, to specify precisely which 4 posts they want us to judge. Simply indicate the post number (e.g. "my first, second, fourth and fifth post in the roleplay") or in any other way that allows us to know clearly which are the ones you have indicated. Please DO NOT quote your whole role-play post here so that your application is easier to read.

As of 15th December 2009, we are embarking on our newest grading method which offers maximum freedom for Students. Applicants are asked to choose 1 from 3 different grading schemes of varying levels of complexity and detail. The 3 schemes are broadly described below. No matter how it is presented, however, the attention and impartiality placed on each application is the same.

Package Set One involves the Kindly Scholars giving a broad overall comment on your posts along with their verdict of whether it is an Accept or a Decline. They are not required to comment on all the aspects of our grading scheme, namely Grammar, Spelling, Presentation and Description. Rather, they will pick out the more prominent elements of your writing.

Package Set Two involves the Kindly Scholars commenting on the various aspects of the grading scheme in your posts, namely Grammar, Spelling, Presentation and Description, along with their verdict. They may also add general comments that do not fall into the above categories.

Package Set Three involves the Kindly Scholars scoring your posts based on the different aspects of the grading scheme. They will also list out in detail the mistakes you made in each category that resulted in their score. There will also be a verdict as well as a final grade.
