the left and white wings of the screen are horrendously blank and this bothers me but it is likely somewhat due to the fact that i've been awake for twenty-one hours (bleck this is unusual for normal humans)

Pros of having this the way it is (reasons i am retarded):
- not everyone's monitor is 1366 pixels wide
- this makes a standardised ten-line minimum much easier (possible) to enforce
- gives the forum a sleek and modern feel
- programming is effing difficult

Cons of having it this way (reasons i am not retarded):
- peoples' monitors tend to be getting larger than they are getting smaller
- nobody really cares about the ten-line minimum
- makes the forum seem inefficient and badly-programmed
- AMANDA WHINE WHINE YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH WORK ON YOUR PLATE YET

I've never really noticed, and my monitor's 1680 wide. Does width even affect it though?

Anyway I'd love to check and see if there's any difference of opinion now that I'd be actually looking for this, but currently my net is terribly slowed cos it's capped, and S*T is absolutely the worst site in terms of loading on such slow speed.

How am I even typing this then? Well, I can get things partially loaded, but it's a terrible look. I'd prefer NOT to have it larger, simply because I'd have to change all the headers (again) so that the rest of the forum doesn't look so retarded (like you). When I went in and changed the layout again, I did increase the width by about 50-100px. I have a pretty big moniter here at work, and I think it looks fine. :( Having more space would allow for the Portal to be a little more efficient, but I think at this point and time, it's not necessary? But we'll see what the people say. :)

And S*T loads THAT slow, DD? I stripped the site of all images, basically. D: Is it just on pages with posts so that it's an avatar/signature problem?

I'm not having any issues with the width, although I do see that white screen of DayDreamer's while the page's loading. But it's only for a few seconds, and given how many windows I'm accustomed to having on my taskbar, that's not a problem at all.

I thought it weird too given there's no images and I can load a site WITH images faster. Doesn't matter what page, even the UCP isn't any better. The pages will basically just do nothing and load eternally, but when I hit refresh again then suddenly I get that white screen-ness so can at least do stuff. But yeah I dunno why but S*T can be the slowest loading site ever.

Though only sometimes it seems. Right now it's actually working normally for me, albeit a little slow.
